CYCD is delighted to hosting a performance arts and dance residency with Amina Khayyam Dance Company (AKDC) to bring professional artist practice to our local community. The joint venture has resulted in over 48 women only workshops over the last two years which contributed to new pieces of work jointly made with AKDC – performing at Hat Factory and in our own space. These included Conversations with Durga performed at Desi Fest, enhanced contributed story narratives scenes for Bird performed at The Place (London ) and local story development for Bibi Rukiya at the Hat Factory

With Arts Council funding, AKDC have brought arts practice to our community – which also saw commissioning of local artists to develop new work The seeds have been sown and we look forward our community expressing our local aspiration and issues through the arts.
