Right to Be Forgotten Request

At CYCD (Community Youth & Cultural Development), we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of the individuals we serve within the Bury Park area of Luton. As part of our commitment to uphold the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and any applicable data protection laws, we recognise your right to have your personal data erased. This right is also known as the “Right to be Forgotten.”

Who We Are

CYCD, operating under the auspices of the Bangladesh Youth League (Charity number 1109719) and in collaboration with the Bengali Women’s Project, is dedicated to meeting the needs of our community through a variety of projects. Alongside our core projects, we support and host several independent community organisations at our facilities, including Little Stars Pre-School, Crescent Summer School Project, Access Disability Project, BASSES (Biscot After-school Supplementary Education & Support), Khidmat Health & Well-being, and Ujala Health & Well-being.

Your Rights

If you have previously participated in any of our projects, used our services, or been involved with any of the independent community organisations we support, you may request the deletion of your personal data from our records, unless there are compelling reasons for us to keep it.

How to Submit a Request

To submit a “Right to be Forgotten” request, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Us: Reach out to our Data Protection Officer.
  2. Provide Necessary Information: Include your full name, contact details, and a brief description of your involvement with CYCD or any of the associated community organisations. If possible, please specify the types of personal data you are requesting to be erased.
  3. Verification: For your security and privacy, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before processing your request.
  4. Processing Your Request: Once your request is verified, we will proceed with the erasure of your personal data, unless it is required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. We will inform you once the process is complete.

We aim to process all requests within one month of receipt. Should your request be particularly complex or if we are dealing with multiple requests from you, we may extend this period by a further two months. We will inform you if an extension is necessary.
