CYCD is excited to announce our new initiative, funded by Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner, in collaboration with ACCM UK Bedford, (ACCM (UK)).

This powerful new initiative is aimed at tacking hidden harms and promoting safety, dignity and empowerment across our diverse communities.

This project builds on the success of CYCD’s Women’s Empowerment Project, our goal is to create safe environments where individuals can seek help and find support for culturally sensitive topics and issues.

Our Focus Areas:

  • Honour-Based Abuse (HBA) & Domestic Abuse
  • Violence & Forced Marriages
  • Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

Support We Offer:

  • One-to-one Support & Advocacy
  • Empowerment, Educational Courses & Workshops including:

“Own My Life” – course tailored for women aged 16+

“The DAY Programme” – helping survivors of domestic abuse and exploitation, bringing young people out of the dark into the light of “DAY” For young people aged 11+

  • Community Outreach & Awareness Campaigns
  • Safe Spaces & Drop-in Services
  • Peer Support & Volunteer Training

Referral Process:

Survivors may self-refer, or be referred by professionals.
